Interchangeable bindings and boards for snowboarding?

Posted on October 13th, 2009 by admin

I am looking to buy burton bindings for my snowboard, but my snowboard is not a burton. Can I put the burton bindings on my snowboard? Or do I have to buy the bindings of my snowboard’s company? Thanks.

try to avoid burtons…over the last 5 years their quality has gone down while their prices have gone up. This is coming from an avid snowboarder of 15+ years. All or at least most bindings I have come across have come with two sets of base plates, one for standard and one for the burton type setup. And no you are never required to buy the same brand of bindings as your board…only a Burton person would think of such a travesty. Also, take into consideration other bindings and other types of bindings. If you can find them Flow Pro S series are great (in spite of what you detractors might say about Flows) and course you have toe caps and cinches…but the cinches are super heavy, traditional straps have an excessive pressure point on the toe portion of the boot, so my recommendation try flows (higher ends are better) or the new toe caps which replace the toe strap with a cap that allegedly secures your toe down.

The burton bindings will come with base plates to fit your snowboard. So yes, you can put burton bindings on almost any snowboard. You do not have to buy the bindings of your snowboard company. pick and choose any brand.

    Good luck!
