what is the best way to place your bindings on your snowboard?
Posted on October 25th, 2009 by admin
i usually ride goofy and i want to know ather peoples oppinion because my friends say that the bindings should be close together and the front foot should be parallel with the other foot…. but then people in a shop i went to said the exact opposite and the front foot shoul piont out a lil bit!
what one is it… or is there even a better way?!
The people in the shop are right. Your bindings should not be close together, as this makes it even harder to manouever your snowboard. If anyone knows their stuff, it is definately the people in the shop. Thats why they are hired.
So to conclude, you should have your stance set fairly wide apart, but also so that it is still comfortable. The front foot should point outward a bit, and the back foot should be straight, or pointed in the other direction. This is the ‘duck-footed’ stance and is the one I have been riding with for about 6 years.
Good luck!

I ride regular (but do what fits you best), with 15 degrees angled in front and 12 negative degrees in rear.
This set-up is best for intermediate/advanced riders

relly it is what ever feels confortable for you
what you usally find is a poitve angle in front foot and negative in back foot but not always the case its what feels right too you
e.g i have my bindings very wide (far apart) with front foot +18 and back foot -15
pretty much duck as i like too try ride both reglaur and goofy + i think it is more of a natural stance and helps to stop me rotating my uper body
just mess bout with your bindings till they feel rite to you =]

I have my front foot at 21 degrees and my rear foot at 17 degrees
I think the edge of my shoulders are inline with the middle of each binding. It’s really easy to ride regular or switch
