How do you like your bindings set up for snowboarding?

I had mine in the duck stance and after a while of riding my feet,ankles,and calfs really started to hurt. Then i switched them to both goin straight and no prob. How do you guys have them?

I’m regular footed and I ride a 21 inch stance with my front foot at 27 degrees and my rear at -6 degrees.

I have this bow-legged style of riding and the duck stance helps as it allows for my knees to bend more comfortably. I like the big angle on the front foot as it helps me really drive my turns, is quicker edge to edge and leads into spinning easier, I think. Even with this angle I can ride switch very, very well. In fact, when I’m riding switch if you didn’t look at my board or feet you’d think I was goofy foot.

In the twenty years I’ve been riding I have ridden a lot of different stances. From the one stance choice of 14 inches on my first board (a Barfoot 151 twin tip Freestyle) to the 27 inch 0-0 stance of my old Avalanche 147 Road Trip to the 11 inch 64-68 (yep, I rode a bigger angle on my back foot, call me crazy) of my race boards. I think I’ve ridden almost every stance option out there.

Do snowboard bindings work with regular shoes?

I want to use a snowboard for sandboarding.. I was wondering, would wearing regular shoes (they’re Vans..) still work with the bindings? I dont want to use snowboots, they’re too heavy for the sand

Snowboard bindings will work with your boots as long as the binding size is small enough. You can usually get the straps tight enough to give you some leverage on the board.

I actually tried this last year and used regular shoes. The only problem I had was that there was too much wax on my snowboard so it just stuck to the sand. So my only advice is to get as much wax off your board as possible before goin. Besides that have a blast!!

I just got a new snowboard today, and I was wondering what a good brand of bindings to get are. I’m looking for a good deal. I wear size 9 boots and I have been snowboarding for 2 years. I would prefer ratchet bindings (I think that is what they are called). I have heard that the snap-in bindings are not reliable.

Not true Marnz, If he got a burton board with the typical 3dhole pattern he can simply buy an adapter plate to have any binding fit it, If he bought a burton binding with the ICS system then he’ll need atleast burton bindings for the ICS adaptor to work, Preferably though he’ll want burtons EST bindings, for the ICS system because they work the best for that system.

So in saying that here are some I’d look at if you don’t have to worry about burtons ICS system.

I am an intermediate to advanced rider.

I like Flow bindings. The backs fold down so you never have to strap in. You just fold down the hi-back, put your foot in, fold it back up, and go.

Are the snowboarding EX Series Bindings good for my avalanche snowboard? And, is the avalanche snowboard good?

Im learning jumps, and i can do boxes.

the ex bindings are good. They are made by ride snowboards which is one of the leaders in bindings and technologies. However it is an entry level binding. Price point. It is fine but they make some slightly more expensive and more freestyle desighned bindings that will offer more support without taking away your feel and mobility. If you are stepping up to boxes and jumps it may be time to upgrade. The best time is now because things can be found on sale and then throw off the cost by selling your old product. A binding I would recomend (as I ride Ride products board and binding). Binding- Contraband. One strap for easy on and off incase you are hiking back up to the box again. And for board the DH. Or a less expensive freestyle board is the ride kink. Great too. The avalanche could be fine but what kind? IS it made for freestyle of is it a freeride? the Ride kink or Dh is designed to not "grab" on rails and boxes or catch an edge (resulting in the quick fall). Your gear will work fine. But try friends stuff or go to free demo days on the mountain to try new gear. You never know what this stuff can do to your learning curve until you try it out. I am pretty good at snowboarding, i ride mostly park. 60 percent jumps 40 percent rails. I have the Rome Agent Snowboard and I want some pretty good bindings to go with it. Any suggestions? LINKS?

What is the lightest most responsive men’s snowboard bindings out there?

If you are looking for the most responsive binding you want a stiff freeride binding. Not a softer freestyle binding.

i usually ride goofy and i want to know ather peoples oppinion because my friends say that the bindings should be close together and the front foot should be parallel with the other foot…. but then people in a shop i went to said the exact opposite and the front foot shoul piont out a lil bit!

The people in the shop are right. Your bindings should not be close together, as this makes it even harder to manouever your snowboard. If anyone knows their stuff, it is definately the people in the shop. Thats why they are hired.

So to conclude, you should have your stance set fairly wide apart, but also so that it is still comfortable. The front foot should point outward a bit, and the back foot should be straight, or pointed in the other direction. This is the ‘duck-footed’ stance and is the one I have been riding with for about 6 years.

right now i ride a forum manual and i love it i highly recommend this board. and as for bindings burton is always a good choice i ride with burton cartels they are good, reliable, and offers many features. they are also cheep right now!
